Academic Standards Committee Form

Please discuss any requests, changes or petitions with the appropriate faculty member BEFORE submitting any forms. After the form is submitted it will be sent to the necessary faculty needed to complete the form. Please make sure the information provided is accurate. Please allow up to 5 business days before inquiring about the status of your request. You will receive an email of confirmation from a member of our office once the request has been processed.


This form is used to petition the Academic Standards Committee (ASC). The Academic Standards Committee helps to ensure Kalamazoo College upholds the academic policies and procedures of the College as set forth in College catalogs and other college documents.


Please speak with your advisor before filling out this form.

Please tell the committee why you feel an exception should be made for your situation; why were you unable to comply with the college policy or procedure?

Additional Information

The Committee’s final meeting for the 2024 Spring term will be Wednesday, June 19th. It will review any petitions submitted by noon on Tuesday, June 18th. Any petition for Fall reinstatement submitted after that date will be reviewed in August. Any other petition submitted after that date will be reviewed the Committee reconvenes in the 2024 Fall term.

Petitions without advisor approval will be considered however, we HIGHLY recommended speaking with your advisor BEFORE submitting the petition.
