Student Right to Know

Graduation/Completion Rate Information

2017 Cohort

In compliance with the Higher Education Act of 1965 (HEA), as amended, and the Student Right to Know Act, Kalamazoo College is pleased to provide information on the graduation/completion rate of students who entered our College as first time, first year, degree-seeking students in the Fall of 2017.

The 2017 Cohort is selected for reporting at this time because the HEA calls for reporting based on a window for completion that is 150% of the length of the normal academic program. Therefore, with our 4-year baccalaureate program, that window is six years long. The six-year window runs from September 1 of the entering academic year to August 31 six years later.

It is our experience that most students who will graduate do so within the six-year window, although there are a few in each cohort who will graduate from the College after that time period has expired. Of course, some students will choose to leave the College early in their enrollment with no intent of completing the program here.

In the Fall Quarter that began in September of 2017, 448 first-time, first year degree-seeking students entered Kalamazoo College. As of August 31, 2023, 80.58% of these students had graduated from our College. A detailed breakdown by gender, race/ethnicity, and financial aid category for previous cohorts can be obtained by contacting the Registrar’s Office at regist@kzoo.edu.

The data for this 2017 Cohort graduation rate joins that of the cohorts that preceded it.
